Course Description
HL7 V3 and CDA are two of the HL7 messaging standard. Though, use of V3 for data exchange is not very popular but RIM (Reference Information Model) is quite a success. RIM is an abstract reference model which provides base to derive further models to support various interoperability scenarios. All V3 domains, CDA, and SPL standards are derived from RIM. The purpose of CDA is to exchange clinical documents. CCDA documents are constrained version of CDA.
The course is designed to keep practical industry needs in mind. It is CCDA documents which are used to exchange clinical documents. But to learn CCDA, the path goes from RIM to CDA and then CCDA. So, the course covers fundamentals of RIM, and CDA and then goes deep down into CCDA specification. It prepares participants for real-world CCD document work. The course covers a good part of V3 certification and complete concepts of CDA certification. Participants can target CDA certification post this course.
Pre-requisite & Target Audience
Pre-requisite
☑️ Participants should have XML knowledge to work practically on CDA or CCDA.
☑️ Though, knowing XML is not mandatory to learn RIM or CDA concepts. XML is not needed to learn for CDA certification. So, not knowing XML is fine if you work more on the functional side of HL7 and targeting certification. But knowing XML will help in understanding implementation aspects.
