The course mainly covers the rules and regulations related to HIPAA ( Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act” of 1996).
This course covers the concepts of PHI ( Personal health information), and different HIPAA rules and regulations such as Privacy, security, breach notification, etc. This course also focuses on a HIPAA checklist mainly customized for software developers (using Vanta).
Since in US healthcare, HIPAA compliance is mandatory for all covered entities (healthcare providers and health plans) one needs to have in-depth knowledge about the HIPAA rules and regulations to avoid the violation and thus penalty.
